Finding Your Sacred Compass
A Somatic Spiritual Retreat in the Shenandoah Mountains
September 23 - 26, 2026
Woodville, Virginia
Eight spots total - 5 - remaining
This is a space for people who feel exhausted by the expectations of life today, and are ready to find what's underneath it, in themselves and beyond. What you're actually reaching for is clarity about who you are, a felt connection to what's larger than you, and a way of living and loving that finally feels like yours. This work gets you there: real integration, held by real community, that changes how you show up in your life and in the relationships to which you belong.
What to Expect
During this 4-day retreat, you will have the opportunity to completely transform the way you understand and experience connection. If you have been working on yourself for years, but feel as though the stress, worry, and pain never fully resolve, you have come to the right place.
Finding Your Sacred Compass invites you to get away from your ordinary life and from ordinary time. You will have a chance to connect with a deeper wisdom and knowledge spoken through your own body, nature, and the world around you, that you may have only touched on before, but never integrated.
Those who have explored this process say it is like having a year of revelatory therapy in the span of one retreat.
Through tapping into your spiritual intuition, learning to listen to the wisdom of your own body, and discovering how to transmute the emotions that are no longer serving you, you will emerge on the other side ready to fully step back into a life filled with Joy, Passion and Vitality.
(This retreat is intentionally limited to a small number of participants.)
What’s Involved?
❋ Private Mountain HomeWe will be staying at a private home on 50 acres of beautiful land in the foothills of the Shenandoah Mountains. A 3 acre pond sits on the property with paddle boarding, canoeing, or even a dip. Outdoor hot tub under the stars. Surrounded by rolling hills and wooded forest for getting deep into nature. There will be opportunities for outdoor yoga, meditation, journaling, reflection and rest.
❋ Room & BoardNourishing food and shared or private rooms create an intimate experience for building community. Each area of the house has a shared bathroom and shower with towels and sheets provided. Come enjoy a vacation quality rental with a large gather space lined with glass doors and a view of the mountains. (Private rooms are subject to availability and retreat attendance, if you would like to share with a friend or partner, please let us know!)
❋ Expert FacilitationOur leadership holds deep wisdom and experience in guiding this trauma-informed process. Together, we will build a container of compassion, set our intentions for learning and opening up to new experiences, and have the opportunity to tap into a deeper understanding of the spiritual life you have been missing. This work meant to support not only your journey, but to help you land the lessons and wisdom you will gather for your real and present life.
❋ A Supportive SpaceThis work is about Love. Loving ourselves, showing up for one another, and practicing the art of love in a safe and supportive environment. That said, this time is also created to challenge what you may have thought about yourself. You may discover parts of yourself are ready to be put down or released. Perhaps you are ready to finally take that next step to becoming the person you always felt you were meant to be. This transformation can be uncomfortable at times. And all of who you are is welcome in this process of unlocking the new you.
Integration is the Key to Transformation
Because we understand that powerful experiences can come with whiplash, this time away includes a deeper level of support than most retreats you may have tried.
Including:
A session before you arrive, to get clear on what you're carrying
Four days on fifty acres in the Shenandoah foothills, lodging and food included
Daily movement, breath, and ritual practice
A small group holding the space with you
A session after you're home, to help it stick
A group call once you're settled back home to help land the work in your body and with one another
What changes
You'll leave with the skills to understand where anger, grief, and fear actually live in your body, not as an idea, but as tools you can locate and work with long after the retreat ends.
You'll have a felt sense of what your spiritual life is calling you to next, instead of just knowing you need it.
And you'll have a small group of people who did this with you, to call on when life closes back over the insight and you need help remembering.
About the Leader
Hi, I'm Maeba — an ordained minister, certified clinical hypnotherapist, and somatic practitioner. I hold a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School, and I've spent more than a decade at the edges of grief, transition, and transformational work: as a college chaplain, with clinical training at a Level 1 hospital.
I trained in the somatic process work that inspired this retreat at Shalom Mountain Retreat Center, and I honor the teachings of my mentor, Jerry Jud, and his foundational Principles and Skills of Loving. My own framework, The Four Tenets of Embodied Love, expands on that lineage to hold the full territory of a life: Self, Beloveds, Community, and the World.
I'm also a trauma-informed yoga instructor and a Gottman-trained relationship coach.
I bring a personalized methodology and spiritual intuition in my leadership that is as unique as you are.
Who is this for?
This retreat is for anyone longing for a deeper connection to themselves and the ones they care about. The parents, caregivers, healers and pastors who are looking for a different way out of the struggles they take on everyday from others.
You are clear on your wounding, you have tried the trends, you may even be curious about spiritualities that you have only read about. But after reading the books, attending the workshops, or even buying the online courses, you still feel stuck in your old patterns and nowhere closer to the spiritual transformation you are longing for.
This time is about providing you the somatic tools, the spiritual wisdom, and the supportive community to finally move through old patterns once and for all.
If you have been taking care of others all your life, but have no one to take care of you.
If you have been looking for a place to explore alternatives to therapy, grow in your spiritual capacity and dive into your interior world, you are welcome here.

Who is this NOT for?
We take very seriously the mental and physical health of our participants. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, need substantial support in your personal growth journey, or are limited in your physical health or mobility, this might not be the retreat for you.
Please reach out for a conversation before registering if you are unsure if this is a good fit for you.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is an essential part of this work. If you are someone who is looking for a place of privacy and safety, where you can open up and truly be yourself, you have come to the right place. We understand that the world is full of opportunities to feel exposed. This retreat strives to be a container of connection and respect.

The retreat program is designed to support not only a life changing experience, but a way to integrate that experience into your real life. That is why the pre and post retreat 1:1 sessions are incorporated into the price, as well as a group call one-month following the retreat.
The Four Day Retreat Includes:
One-on-one pre-retreat session with Maeba to discuss what is up for you right now, what are you coming to the retreat to shift? What are you hoping to come away with that you are ready to bring into your life and relationships?
Four days away from your life with individual process work, transformational teachings and a mind-altering experience you will be talking about for years.
One-on-one post-retreat session with Maeba as an opportunity to process what you’ve experienced, how it has landed with you in the real world and to incorporate next steps
One month out group call to continue the supportive community and allow for connection.
Everything you invest here counts toward Sacred Compass, my year-long program, if you decide to continue.
(if registered by September 1)
Standard Cost: $1500 ($1200 - early registration discount)
(Payment Plans Available)
Note: I want this work to be accessible to everyone who needs it and therefore reserve a handful of spots each year for scholarships or financially supported participants. Reach out if that is useful for you.
Cancellation Policy
Each retreat holds only eight participants, so a late cancellation is genuinely hard to fill and it changes the experience for everyone, not only the person leaving. A non-refundable deposit holds your spot.
If you need to cancel more than thirty days before we begin, your payment beyond the deposit is refundable. Inside thirty days it is not refundable in cash, but it is not lost either. It converts to full credit toward a future retreat or toward Sacred Compass Training, good for eighteen months.
I understand things come up that nobody can help. Talk to me and we will find something that works.

The retreat, Finding Your Sacred Compass, is four days — a complete experience on its own, and open to anyone who wants real rest and a reset, not just leaders. Sacred Compass Training is the full year: the retreat plus ongoing private sessions and a monthly Circle, built specifically for people who are at the forefront of change-making — a congregation, a team, a movement. Many people start with the retreat and decide from there.
-
Book a free call. That conversation exists specifically to figure this out together — bring what's going on for you, and I'll help you see which fit, if any, makes sense before you commit to anything.
-
No. This is trauma-informed somatic and spiritual work — real, and different from mental-health treatment.
Though I am trained in pastoral counseling and can recognize a mental-health crisis, I am not a licensed therapist. If you're in an acute season, I am happy to help find you some support that meets your unique needs.
-
Unfortunately, no. Nothing here is billed as medical treatment, so health insurance doesn't apply. If you're coming through Sacred Compass Training, though, institutional funding often does — congregations, employers, and grants regularly cover it. See the Funding page for how that works.
I also offer payment plans and a handful of scholarship places on each retreat. Just ask.

I'm an ordained minister and trained as an interfaith chaplain, so the sacred is welcome in the room — but the work itself runs on breath, body, and love, which belong to everyone. People show up here across the whole spectrum, from devout faith leaders to those healing from religious harm, to those who are simply spiritually curious.
-
See my cancellation policy above. Since the groups are small, a non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot and cancellation well in advance is appreciated.
-
Every path starts the same way: a free call. No pitch, just a real conversation about where you are and whether this is a fit.
We look forward to seeing you in the mountains
